In recognizing that, Brighton EDC created the the Brighton Investment program as a program to help businesses subsidize workforce training and development for their employees. Similarly, Manufacturer's edge created the Small Manufacturer's AdvantageEDGE (SMA) to strategically leverage the services of key partners for business growth and success.
In recognizing the value of collaborating with partners, we will now be collaborating with Manufacturer's Edge Small Manufacturer's AdvantEDGE (SMA) program in order to help make business resources more accessible to Brighton Businesses.
A facet of the Brighton Investment Program is to provide businesses the opportunity to apply for funding that can supplement important training, industry conferences with the goals of better equipping employees to navigate the day to day of their jobs. The intent of this piece of the program is that this will be an occupation or industry-specific training assistance program for current, full-time employees of an organization who need to increase skills to advance their career.
The Small Manufacturer's AdvantEDGE (SMA) is a partnership program providing integrated support to small manufacturers across Colorado by leveraging the services of key strategic organizations such as Manufacturer's Edge, the Colorado Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC), the State of Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), the World Trade Center (WTC), and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC). These organizations work together to determine each applicant's specific strategic challenges and can offer services in numerous areas. Services that have been provided to Colorado manufacturers so far include capacity planning, search engine optimization, cyber security, organizational design, supply chain support, facility layout, lean manufacturing processes, quality systems, ISO certification, international gap analysis and much more.
By leveraging state and federal funds, the participating company is able to receive these services with a minimal contribution and now with help from the Brighton Investment Program. A substantial amount of funding is still available. New and returning candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants can be located in any part of the state and simply need to demonstrate that they manufacture a product. Each applicant must have fewer than 20 employees and be willing to report the economic impact. Potential candidates range from more traditional manufacturing and fabrication to apparel, breweries and distilleries, food production, outdoor equipment, large machinery, and more.
