Employment growth has mirrored population growth in Brighton. Between 1990 and 2000, it nearly doubled, and it is projected to increase at an even faster rate between 2000 and 2010. By the end of the decade, employment is predicted to reach nearly 25,000, with another 10,000 jobs expected between 2010 and 2020.

Existing businesses are responsible for much of that growth, but new businesses have also found Brighton to be an excellent place to locate, sink roots and grow. The city offers a variety of services that provide information and resources to both groups.
